fridgiary Privacy Policy
Last updated July 14, 2026
linqen provides fridgiary, an Android app for keeping track of food dates. This policy explains what the app stores and when third-party services may be involved.
Information stored on your device
Food names, use-by or best-before dates, storage status, and photos you choose are stored locally on your device. fridgiary does not require an account and does not include advertising, payments, or cloud backup.
When you scan a food package, the image and recognized text are processed on your device. fridgiary does not send the image, recognized text, or saved food details to a linqen server.
Google ML Kit
fridgiary uses Google ML Kit Text Recognition for on-device date scanning. Google states that ML Kit processes image input and recognition results on the device. The food photo and recognized text are not sent to Google for this processing.
ML Kit APIs may contact Google servers for bug fixes, updated models, and hardware accelerator compatibility information. ML Kit may also send app configuration and device information, per-installation identifiers, and performance and API usage metrics to Google for quality and diagnostic purposes. This diagnostic information is encrypted in transit.
Permissions and notifications
Camera and photo access are used only when you choose to photograph a package or select an image. Notification permission is used only for local reminders scheduled from the food date you confirm.
Retention and deletion
Deleting a food item removes its saved record and associated app photo from fridgiary. Uninstalling the app removes its locally stored data according to Android's device behavior. fridgiary does not keep a server copy that you need to request from linqen.
